The Millerton Fire Company has had a program for youths ages 14-21, to discover the fire service since 2000.
Over the years, the membership has had several bursts of 'juniors' as they were originally called, now known as
'explorers', now that the MFC linked up with the Boy Scouts of America's Learning for Life program to provide a
structure Fire Explorer program. Several past graduates of the program have moved up into the general
membership of the Millerton Fire Company, some even as line officers of the company.
Their primary focus is to become acquainted with the fire service, through experience and education. Currently
there are 10+ members of the program. Interested in joining? Stop by the Millerton fire house on a Monday night
between 6 and 8pm to speak to an advisor.
